Healthy Habits Family Retreats 2016: Two-day retreats held quarterly at Trinity Washington University in DC, January 9-10, 2016 and April 16-17, 2016

Headed by Kofi Essel, MD, pediatrician of Children’s National Health System, specializing in childhood obesity, an interdisciplinary team of pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and nutritionists have developed a family-based approach to healthy living. Join us at Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC for two-day retreats packed with fun while gaining invaluable knowledge needed to develop a healthy life. Retreats will take place every three months to renew, review and rejuvenate your commitment to living well.  Families with a child or teen at risk for childhood obesity (ages 7-16) are invited to join us.

Children participate in activities and learning endeavors. Group counseling sessions allow the children to discuss their feelings and learn how others cope with their condition. Families come together to form support networks and to offer one another information and assistance.  Everyone is there with the same goal:  to have fun and learn how to live a healthy life.

The cost of the Healthy Habits Family Retreats is $50/person/2-day retreat.  Need based scholarships are available and payment plans can be arranged.  Please contact Brainy Camps at for more information.

Healthy Habits Family Camp is supported by the generosity of :
members of Children's National Health System through the Employee Giving Campaign and private donations.
